Fukken with Ascophyllan

Our "FUKKEN", pronounced 'FUKU-KEN/ meaning "Health is Happiness", was developed by the late Mr. Kengo Minato, former president of Minato Pharmaceutical Co. in Japan. In 1972, he obtained documents regarding the unique activities of the mycellium in Shiitake mushroom and initiated collection of data and laboratory experiments on that substance. During this stage, Mr. Minato became associated with Dr. Hitoshi Nakaoka, who is a researcher on mycelium of the Shiitake mushroom. Mycellium is found in the roots of shiitake mushroom and is the main ingredient  which makes "FUKKEN" so special and unique.

To the original FUKKEN, Ascophyllan , a seaweed extract from Ascophyllun Nodosum, the "Longevity Seaweed" was added together with Ganiashi extract which is also packed with Fucoidan, an immune supporting nutrient

Fukken, a unique Shiitake mushroom extract is manufactured through an exclusive extraction method which is used to preserve all the precious nutrients ( protein, fat, carbohydrate, minerals, and vitamins) and valued properties of the mycelium. In this exclusive cultivation method developed by Minato, the mycelium of the shiitake mushroom is cultured in sugar cane fibers called "bagasse". It was reported that 6 kinds of polysaccharides have been found in mycelium of the Shiitake mushroom and among them, the most representative and significant is Lentinan, which is only found in the mycelium of this mushroom.

What is a mycelium?
An unfamiliar word to most of us, mycelium are the often-invisible, fine, thread-like ‘roots’ of the mushroom. Like a plant seed, the mycelium houses the source of the propagating power and rich nutrients that have yet to be exhausted through flowering.
